Islamabad (Staff Reporter): On the directives of the Director General, the Excise and Taxation Department, upholding its traditions, took into custody seven suspicious vehicles during routine road checking operations. During the operation, the chassis numbers of the vehicles were found to be suspicious, prompting their examination by the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
After receiving the laboratory report, it was confirmed that the vehicles had been stolen from different districts. In accordance with rules and regulations, all recovered vehicles were handed over to the respective police stations so that they could be returned to their rightful owners.
Among the recovered vehicles, three vehicles were wanted by Sindh Police, Karachi, while one vehicle was wanted by Sheikhupura Police, one by Sargodha Police, and two vehicles were wanted by Rawalpindi Police.
The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department continues its efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens and to prevent vehicle theft. The department also urges citizens to ensure complete verification and legal scrutiny when buying or selling vehicles in order to avoid any form of fraud.
