Attock (Staff Reporter): On the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, an extensive cleanliness operation is being carried out across all tehsils of Attock District under the Suthra Punjab Program during Muharram-ul-Haram and Youm-e-Ashura. The campaign covers procession routes, Imambargahs, Majalis venues, and adjoining areas to ensure a clean and healthy environment for mourners.
Acting on the instructions of Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Attock, Anil Saeed, sanitation staff, machinery, and field supervisory teams have been fully mobilized to facilitate the public and provide the best possible environment during the religious observances.
Under this special cleanliness campaign, operations are underway in Attock City and all six tehsils of the district, including Fateh Jang, Pindi Gheb, Jand, Hazro, and Hassan Abdal. The activities include cleaning and washing of Imambargahs, main and subsidiary procession routes, Majalis venues, entry and exit points, and public places. Timely disposal of waste and cleaning of drains and sewer channels are also being carried out. Additional waste containers, waste bags, and sanitation workers are being deployed along procession routes to ensure the immediate removal of garbage.
Teams of the Suthra Punjab Agency are conducting daily field monitoring, while a special control mechanism has been established to supervise the cleanliness operation. In all tehsils, procession routes are being washed, swept, and cleaned regularly, with additional manpower deployed to ensure public convenience.
Managing Director Anil Saeed stated that providing mourners with a clean, safe, and healthy environment during Muharram-ul-Haram remains the agency’s top priority. He said that a comprehensive cleanliness plan is being implemented across all tehsils of Attock District and that effective sanitation arrangements are being ensured before, during, and after processions and religious gatherings.
He further emphasized that no negligence in the cleanliness operation will be tolerated and that all relevant officers and staff are actively performing their duties in the field. He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the authorities in maintaining cleanliness during Muharram by disposing of waste only at designated locations so that a hygienic environment can be preserved throughout the observances.
Expressing his commitment, Anil Saeed said that the Suthra Punjab Agency Attock will utilize all available resources to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness during Muharram-ul-Haram and Youm-e-Ashura and ensure the provision of the best possible civic facilities to mourners.
