Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department Achieves Record Revenue Collection of Rs25.43 Billion

Department records historic milestone through effective strategy, digitalization and improved public services

Following the directions of the Chief Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, the Excise and Taxation Department Islamabad has achieved remarkable performance during the fiscal year 2025-26 by collecting record revenue of more than Rs25.43 billion.

The department deposited Rs25.43 billion into the national exchequer during the financial year 2025-26, marking a significant milestone in its history. The revenue collection surpassed the set annual target, reflecting the department’s improved performance and effective administrative measures.

The department achieved notable success in various revenue sectors, including vehicle registration fees, road tax, hotel tax, professional tax and other categories. Out of the total collection, Rs19.13 billion was collected under the Excise head, while Rs6.30 billion was collected on behalf of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Officials stated that this exceptional achievement is the result of effective planning, a transparent system, the use of modern technology, efficient monitoring mechanisms and the dedicated efforts of officers and staff.

The department’s initiatives, including provision of better and timely public services, expansion of the tax base, digitalization and effective revenue recovery measures, played a key role in achieving this historic performance.

The Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department has appealed to citizens to pay their taxes and vehicle-related dues on time and obtain services only through official channels to further strengthen a transparent, efficient and public-friendly system.

The department also announced that citizens can avail a 10 percent discount on token tax payments through the PAK AAP application during July 2026.

Director Excise and Taxation Islamabad Bilal Azam said that public-friendly policies and the provision of modern technology-based facilities have increased public confidence in the department. He added that this trust and improved service delivery contributed significantly to the record revenue collection achieved by Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department.
