Orders Senior Police Officers to Further Improve Security Arrangements, Crime Prevention, Traffic Management and Standards of Public Service
ISLAMABAD (Crime Reporter): A key meeting on law and order, security, crime and traffic was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.
The IG Islamabad issued directives to all senior police officers to further improve security arrangements, crime prevention, traffic management and the standard of public service.
According to details, the important meeting was held at the Central Police Office Islamabad under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. All DIGs, AIGs, SSPs and other senior police officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the overall law and order situation in the federal capital, security arrangements, crime prevention, progress on cases under investigation, ongoing operations against proclaimed offenders and criminal elements, traffic management, the patrolling system, resolution of citizens’ complaints and other professional matters.
IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi directed all officers to utilise all available resources to eliminate crime, protect the lives and property of citizens and maintain law and order.
He said that action against criminal elements, drug dealers, land-grabbing mafias and other lawbreakers should be made more effective and indiscriminate, while cases under investigation should be resolved on merit and within the prescribed timeframe.
Reviewing security arrangements, he directed that the security of important government and private installations, diplomatic centres, places of worship and public places be further strengthened.
He further directed that the patrolling and checking-point systems be kept operational in accordance with modern requirements so that any untoward incident could be dealt with promptly and effectively.
The IG Islamabad directed that traffic management in the federal capital be further improved to ensure smooth traffic flow, strict enforcement of lane discipline, elimination of encroachments and the provision of better travelling facilities to citizens.
He said that indiscriminate legal action should be taken against those violating traffic laws, while courteous and professional conduct with citizens must be ensured under all circumstances.
The IG Islamabad further said that public service, transparency and merit were the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
He directed all officers to perform their duties with honesty, integrity and professional expertise so that public confidence in the police could be further strengthened.
He made it clear that officers demonstrating excellent performance would be encouraged, while strict departmental action would be taken against officers found negligent or derelict in their duties.
