Directs Police Officials to Treat Citizens Courteously; Special Attention to Be Given to Women, Senior Citizens and Vulnerable Complainants
ISLAMABAD (Crime Reporter): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza held an important meeting with the Moharrirs of all police stations across the district.
During the meeting, he conducted a detailed review of the overall performance of the Moharrirs and issued necessary instructions to further improve the standard of public service.
SSP Operations Islamabad said that treating every citizen visiting a police station with courtesy, respect and professionalism was a fundamental responsibility of the police.
He directed that women, senior citizens and complainants belonging to other vulnerable groups should, in particular, be provided facilities on a priority basis and that every possible measure should be taken to resolve their issues promptly.
He said that protecting the lives and property of citizens, ensuring the timely provision of justice and maintaining law and order were the foremost responsibilities of Islamabad Police.
“Providing relief to the oppressed and preventing injustice against them is our professional and moral responsibility. All officers should further enhance the prestige of the police department through positive attitudes, exemplary conduct and honesty,” he said.
SSP Operations Islamabad further directed all Moharrirs to perform their official duties with honesty, integrity and a sense of responsibility so that public confidence in the police could be further strengthened.
He made it clear that officers demonstrating excellent performance would be encouraged and awarded certificates of appreciation and rewards, while strict departmental action would be taken against officers found negligent in their duties, demonstrating poor performance or adopting inappropriate behaviour towards citizens.
He reaffirmed that any negligence or dereliction of duty in protecting the lives and property of citizens and ensuring the timely provision of justice would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
