Daudkhel (Zia Niazi) — A meeting to review arrangements along the routes of Chehlum processions was held in the Committee Room under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Majid Bin Ahmed, District Emergency Officer Engineer Naveed Iqbal, Chief Officer Municipal Committee Mubashir Kaleem Gul, Civil Defence Instructor Muhammad Bilal Farooq and officers from other relevant departments attended the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed all relevant departments to immediately prepare contingency plans for Chehlum and submit them to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.
He directed the Municipal Committee Administrator, Assistant Commissioners and Municipal Committee officers to ensure cleanliness along the procession routes, arrangements for sabeels, restoration and repair of streetlights, removal of wall chalking, and desilting of sewerage lines and drains.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the District Health Officer to ensure the availability of doctors and paramedical staff accompanying the processions, while the District Emergency Officer was instructed to ensure the provision of medical and emergency cover.
He also directed WAPDA officials to ensure the insulation and safety of electrical installations along the procession routes.
Officials of the Punjab Food Authority were directed to inspect the sabeels, while the Civil Defence Officer was instructed to conduct technical sweeping of the procession routes.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed officials of the Suthra Punjab Authority to ensure the best possible cleanliness arrangements along all procession routes.
