Daudkhel (Zia Niazi): Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia and District Police Officer Waqar Azeem Kharl, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Shahid Khokhar and Assistant Commissioner Mianwali Salman Qayyum Sheikh, visited Sharif Wali, a suburban area of Mochh.

The Deputy Commissioner and DPO inspected the site affected by land erosion along the Indus River, met with local residents and listened to their problems.

On the occasion, residents informed the Deputy Commissioner that river erosion was continuing rapidly at Sharif Wali and demanded that immediate measures be taken to protect the local population and land from being washed away by the river.

Speaking to the local residents, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration had already prepared an estimate with the assistance of the Irrigation Department for the provision of the required funds to address river erosion and had submitted a complete case to the government.

He said that work to prevent river erosion would begin immediately after the release of funds.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Abbas Kathia also visited the flood relief camp established at Government Elementary School Khan Muhammad and reviewed the medicines and other safety measures available at the camp.

He directed Rescue 1122 and other relevant departments to remain alert round the clock to deal with any emergency situation.
