WAPDA Electric Labour Union Elections Held at Tarbela Power House; Seerhi Group Candidates Emerge Victorious

Tarbela Ghazi (Correspondent): The WAPDA Electric Labour Union’s intra-party elections were completed at Tarbela Power House and T-4 Power House, with candidates of the Seerhi Group securing a notable victory according to unofficial results. A grand reception rally was also held in Mehran Colony.

According to details, in the election for the post of Chairman at Tarbela Power Station, Seerhi Group candidate Afsar Khan won by securing 333 votes, while Chand Group candidate Faisal Arshad received 292 votes.

Similarly, at T-4 Power House, Seerhi Group’s Ahmed Nawaz was declared successful for the post of Chairman after securing 109 votes, while his opponent from the Chand Group, Sagheer Hussain, received 63 votes.

Following the announcement of the election results, Seerhi Group leader Tanveer Ahmed congratulated the successful candidates and workers. He said that he was deeply grateful to the employees for the trust and strong support they had expressed.

He said that the elected representatives would use all their abilities to protect workers’ rights, promote their welfare and resolve the issues they face.

Meanwhile, following the Seerhi Group’s victory, newly elected office-bearers and workers organized a grand reception rally in Mehran Colony, which was attended by a large number of employees and supporters.

The participants expressed happiness over the group’s success and chanted enthusiastic slogans.

Addressing the rally, Babar Bobby thanked all employees who had expressed confidence in the Seerhi Group and cast their valuable votes in its favour.

He said that the strong support and trust of the employees were the foundation of the Seerhi Group’s success, adding that the group would continue its struggle to protect workers’ rights and promote their welfare in the future.

Babar Bobby specially thanked Sar Anjam Lala for his prominent role during the election campaign, saying that his tireless efforts and continuous contact with workers had played an important role in the victory.

Later, newly elected Seerhi Group Chairman Afsar Khan, Group Leader Tanveer Ahmed and other office-bearers paid tribute to Babar Bobby for his services during the election campaign and organizational activities and expressed their special thanks to him.

The speakers said that Babar Bobby had rendered valuable services in keeping workers mobilized and conducting the election campaign effectively, which would always be remembered.

At the conclusion of the event, workers congratulated the newly elected leadership and expressed their resolve that the Seerhi Group would continue to play a positive role in protecting workers’ rights and improving the institution.
