Pakistan Investor Forum event emphasizes strengthening the national economy, promoting investment and uniting Pakistani investors in Saudi Arabia; business agreements worth millions and new projects announced
JEDDAH (Khalid Nawaz Cheema) Pakistan’s Consul General in Jeddah, Syed Mustafa Rabbani, has said that overseas Pakistani investors must adopt a coordinated, effective and practical investment strategy to strengthen Pakistan’s economy and significantly increase its foreign exchange reserves. He assured that the Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah would always remain available to provide every possible guidance and support to Pakistani investors and the business community, adding that the doors of the consulate would always remain open to them.
He was addressing a reception and dinner hosted in his honor by the Pakistan Investor Forum (PIF). A large number of prominent Pakistani investors, business personalities, community leaders and important figures from various walks of life residing in Saudi Arabia attended the event.
Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani said that under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is among the world’s rapidly emerging countries in terms of investment, trade and industrial development, with a transparent, secure and modern system established for investors. He said Pakistani investors should take full advantage of this favorable environment and expand their businesses so that, in addition to increasing their own success, they could also play an effective role in strengthening Pakistan’s national economy through investment, exports and increased foreign exchange earnings.
He extended his heartfelt congratulations to Pakistan Investor Forum Saudi Arabia Chairman Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood on assuming office and said that under his leadership, the forum would further organize, unite and activate Pakistani investors in Saudi Arabia and give a new dimension to trade and investment relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He also expressed his commitment to providing full cooperation and maintaining strong coordination with the forum.
On the occasion, Pakistan Investor Forum Saudi Arabia Chairman Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood said that uniting Pakistani investors residing in Saudi Arabia on a strong platform was the forum’s primary objective. In line with this vision, the Pakistan Executive Forum was recently activated in Riyadh and the Eastern Province (Dammam), with Munir Ahmad Shad appointed as its chairman. He said that memorandums of understanding (MoUs) had already been signed between the Pakistan Investor Forum (PIF), Riyadh, the Eastern Province (Dammam) and the Pakistan Executive Forum. Through this initiative, Pakistani investors across Saudi Arabia would be brought together on a common platform to further strengthen mutual cooperation, joint investment and business relations.
Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood said that as a result of the forum’s continuous efforts, several important business agreements worth 124 million, 38 million, 7 million and 3 million had been finalized, which were a clear reflection of the growing confidence of Pakistani investors and the forum’s successful strategy.
He further said that a high-level delegation of the Pakistan Investor Forum recently visited Sudan, where detailed discussions were held with senior officials regarding extensive investment opportunities in the minerals, energy, agriculture, infrastructure and industrial sectors. Similarly, during an online meeting with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment, detailed discussions were held on new investment opportunities for Pakistani investors residing in Saudi Arabia in agriculture, tourism, minerals, energy, IT and other emerging sectors.
In his address, Pakistan Investor Forum Secretary General Abdul Khaliq Lak said that a strong, organized and prosperous Pakistani community was the identity of a successful nation in any country. He described education, healthcare, housing projects, technical training for youth, business guidance and the provision of basic facilities as pressing needs of the time. He said that the welfare of overseas Pakistanis, mutual unity, positive thinking and a sense of shared responsibility were essential for building a strong and dignified community.
At the conclusion of the event, the speakers expressed their determination that the Pakistan Investor Forum Saudi Arabia would continue its efforts to create new opportunities for Pakistani investors, industrialists and young entrepreneurs, promote investment in Pakistan, increase exports and further strengthen economic and trade relations between the two brotherly countries. They expressed hope that the strong economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would create new opportunities for the development, prosperity and public welfare of both countries in the future.
