Islamabad (Crime Reporter): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired an important meeting and directed senior police officers to further intensify operations against criminal elements and strengthen the implementation of the “Weapons-Free Islamabad Campaign.”

According to details, the meeting was attended by DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, SSP Investigations Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza, and other senior police officers.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress on tasks assigned to various officers, ongoing operations against criminal elements, measures to further improve the quality of investigations, and the crackdown against individuals possessing illegal weapons under the “Weapons-Free Islamabad Campaign.”

On the occasion, IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi directed officers to make intelligence-based operations against criminal elements more effective and to accelerate indiscriminate action against proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals. He instructed that investigations be completed strictly on merit, supported by evidence, and in accordance with legal requirements, while ensuring effective prosecution of cases before the courts.

He further ordered that the crackdown against individuals involved in the illegal possession, public display, and trade of firearms be intensified under the “Weapons-Free Islamabad Campaign.” He emphasized that strict legal action must be taken against such offenders and warned that no negligence or laxity in this regard would be tolerated.

The IG Islamabad also instructed all officers to ensure effective supervision of operations in line with assigned targets, maintain close coordination, and perform their duties with professionalism. He reiterated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property, effective crime prevention, and the maintenance of a peaceful environment remain the foremost priorities of Islamabad Police.
