55.281 Kilograms of Narcotics Worth Over Rs. 9.2 Million Seized in Eight Operations; Islamabad Suspect Admits Supplying Drugs to Students

Islamabad (Asif Malik): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking in the vicinity of educational institutions and across various cities of Pakistan, arresting 10 suspects, including a woman, in eight separate operations and seizing 55.281 kilograms of narcotics valued at more than Rs. 9.2 million.

According to an ANF spokesperson, 2.4 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle near Chungi No. 26, Islamabad, leading to the arrest of one suspect. During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to supplying narcotics to students of educational institutions.

In other operations, 1 kilogram of heroin was recovered from the luggage of a passenger bound for Bahrain at Faisalabad International Airport. At Lahore Airport, authorities recovered 25 capsules containing 175 grams of crystal meth (Ice) from the stomach of a passenger traveling to Jeddah.

At Islamabad International Airport, 4.606 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) concealed within clothing was recovered from the luggage of a man and a woman traveling to Jeddah.

In Rawalpindi, 6.5 kilograms of cannabis oil hidden inside visiting cards was recovered from a parcel destined for the United Kingdom at a courier office. In Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, 2 kilograms of heroin concealed in clothing was recovered from another parcel being shipped to the United Kingdom.

Near the Sangjani Toll Plaza, ANF recovered 33.6 kilograms of hashish from two vehicles and arrested three suspects. In a separate operation at a housing society in Quetta, 5 kilograms of crystal meth (Ice) were recovered from a vehicle, and two suspects were taken into custody.

The ANF spokesperson stated that cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are currently underway.
