Pakistani Ambassador Urges Increased US Investment in Minerals and Surgical Instruments

Chicago (Online): Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, held meetings with several US business delegations and urged increased American investment in Pakistan’s mineral sector and surgical instruments industry.

During the meetings, Ambassador Rizwan Sheikh invited US investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan. He emphasized that American investment is essential for value addition in Pakistan’s mineral resources. He also welcomed the ongoing $200 million joint venture for the export of Pakistani pink salt.

The Ambassador also met with the President of Miracle Salt Works Collective, where they discussed the ongoing $200 million partnership with the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC).

Ambassador Rizwan Sheikh further discussed opportunities to increase US investment in Pakistan’s surgical instruments sector. On the occasion, he visited a Pakistani surgical instruments finishing, packaging and distribution center in Naperville.

He stressed the need to promote modern technology, training and skills development in Pakistan’s surgical instruments sector. He said that Pakistan’s focus remains on investment, technology, skills development and value addition.

Later, Ambassador Rizwan Sheikh also met with office-bearers of the Pak-American Chicago Land Chamber of Commerce and discussed matters of mutual interest and opportunities to strengthen business and investment ties between Pakistan and the United States.
