Equal Rights and a 5 Percent Quota Should Be Granted to the Christian Community: Mumtaz Bhatti

Islamabad (General Reporter): Mumtaz Bhatti, a member of the Minority Wing of Awam Pakistan, said that the Christian community’s contribution to the development and defense of Pakistan is unforgettable. He called on the government to provide Christians with constitutional and equal rights, as well as equal opportunities in education, employment, and national institutions.

On the occasion of National Minorities Day, he demanded a transparent census of the Christian community and called for ensuring the protection of their lives, property, and religious freedom, as well as preventing violent incidents and false cases against them.

Mumtaz Bhatti demanded that a 5 percent quota be allocated for Christian citizens in the CSS examination, medical education, and various branches of the Pakistan Army, including medical, engineering, artillery, and pilot positions.

He also called for the restoration of historic educational and medical institutions associated with the Christian community.

He said that Christian youth should be provided equal opportunities to advance and contribute to all sectors of national development.
