Rawalpindi: (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi) The central flag-hoisting ceremony for Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was held at a local hotel in the Rawalpindi district, attended by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Salman Ghani and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir as special guests. Both officials raised the green and white flag, while a disciplined contingent of the Punjab Police presented a salute to the national flag. The ceremony included special prayers for the country’s development, prosperity, security, and stability. Students expressed their love for the homeland and patriotism through national songs. Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, representatives from various administrative bodies, members of the minority community, and individuals from different walks of life participated in the event. In his address, Commissioner Salman Ghani congratulated the Pakistani nation on Independence Day, stating that true service to the country and people requires creating ease for the public. He emphasized that we all bear heavy responsibilities and must serve the people with sincerity, passion, and accountability. He noted that for Pakistan’s development and prosperity, every individual must play a positive and effective role. Working together under the green and white flag for the country’s development, stability, and prosperity is a pressing need of the time. Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Nadeem Nasir, in his speech, extended heartfelt congratulations to all Pakistanis on Independence Day, stating that Pakistan is on the path of development and prosperity, and its defense system has become invincible. He remarked that Independence Day is not just a day of celebration but also an opportunity for renewal of commitment. We must pledge to fulfill our responsibilities vigorously for the country’s development, stability, prosperity, and the betterment of the people. At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were also offered for national security, development, and prosperity.
