Islamabad (News Reporter) The four-day training activities of the third phase of Shifa Foundation’s flagship youth internship program “Noor of Tomorrow” have concluded at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.
Students from universities and colleges in the twin cities participated in the program. Participants were provided with essential skills necessary for educational success, employment, and meaningful contributions to society, including practical life skills, emergency preparedness, mental health awareness, digital and cyber security, communication, teamwork, professional attitudes, and civic responsibilities. The training sessions, practicals, and group activities highlighted participants’ teamwork and leadership abilities, while also providing them with practical knowledge on handling emergencies, first aid, CPR, fire safety, and relief operations during natural disasters.
The program also focused on mental health and well-being, coping with stress, resilience, and understanding others’ feelings, as well as digital literacy and cyber security. Participants were informed about online safety, protecting personal information, responsible use of artificial intelligence, workplace ethics, and preparing professional profiles. The youth engaged in vibrant discussions with health sector experts, development professionals, trainers, and specialists from various fields, which boosted their confidence and encouraged them to take an active role in volunteer activities, social initiatives, and community service.
A notable aspect of the program was its timing, coinciding with International Youth Day 2026. The program emphasized the role of youth in building a healthy, safe, inclusive, and sustainable society. Shifa Foundation also launched a youth-led tree-planting campaign aimed at promoting environmental responsibility, addressing the impacts of climate change, and advancing the vision of a green Pakistan.
Dr. Abdul Wahab, Executive Director of Shifa Foundation, addressed the certificate distribution ceremony for the students participating in this unique internship program, stating, “Youth do not need to wait for the future to bring about positive change; they can start making a difference in society today.”
Sheikh Yunus, Director of Programs at Shifa Foundation, praised the enthusiasm, spirit, and determination of the participating students in his closing remarks and thanked the trainers, assistants, volunteers, organizers, and all supporting teams whose efforts contributed to the successful completion of the program.
