Saifee Hospital’s New Cardiac Wing a Major Step Toward Providing World-Class Cardiac Care to Karachi Residents, Says Muhammad Aurangzeb
KARACHI (Bureau Report): Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Cardiac Wing at Saifee Hospital in North Nazimabad, Karachi.
Addressing the ceremony, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb said that investment in healthcare is an investment in Pakistan’s future. He said the new Cardiac Wing at Saifee Hospital represents an important step toward providing the people of Karachi with timely and world-class cardiac healthcare facilities.
He said the new Cardiac Wing is equipped with modern catheterization laboratories, along with high-quality diagnostic and medical facilities.
The Finance Minister emphasized that a hospital is not merely a building or a collection of medical equipment. He said the expertise, dedication and compassion of doctors, nurses and support staff are what ultimately make the real difference in healthcare delivery.
He said the role of private institutions is crucial in expanding access to quality healthcare facilities and reducing pressure on the public healthcare system. According to him, combining community-based initiatives with world-class medical expertise can serve as an important model for Pakistan’s healthcare sector.
The Finance Minister appreciated the Bohra community’s long-standing social services and significant contribution to public welfare, saying that its continued efforts to improve access to healthcare and promote social welfare in Pakistan were highly commendable.
He stressed that healthcare should not merely be viewed as a social expenditure but as an investment in Pakistan’s most valuable national asset—the people.
“A healthy population leads to greater productivity, stronger human capital and improved economic resilience,” he said.
The minister further noted that initiatives based on humanitarian service and collective efforts can create lasting positive impacts on society.
Muhammad Aurangzeb paid tribute to the community, hospital administration, medical specialists and all other stakeholders who contributed to the establishment of the Cardiac Wing.
He expressed hope that the Saifee Hospital Cardiac Wing would become a center of excellence in Karachi and set an example for other institutions across the country.
