Islamabad (Staff Reporter) – A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Allama Iqbal Open University’s Japan-Pakistan Advancement Center and the Pakistan-Japan Business Forum to promote educational, industrial, and professional cooperation.
The memorandum was signed by Chairman of the Pakistan-Japan Business Forum, Murtaza Mandviwala, and Registrar of Allama Iqbal Open University, Raja Umar Younis. The primary objective of this agreement is to strengthen the links between the university and industry, providing students and youth with better opportunities in the Japanese language, technical and professional skills, business and industrial research, practical training, internships, and employment.
Under the agreement, both institutions will take joint measures to prepare a skilled workforce, conduct training programs, and enhance the professional capabilities of youth, keeping in mind the needs of Japanese companies and industrial institutions. Speaking on the occasion, Murtaza Mandviwala emphasized that the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan can be further strengthened through educational and industrial cooperation. He noted that enhancing the technical and professional skills of Pakistani youth according to the needs of Japanese companies is a pressing necessity. He expressed hope that this partnership with Allama Iqbal Open University would help youth acquire modern skills, connect with the industrial sector, and access new employment opportunities.
Registrar Raja Umar Younis stated that the university is a large educational institution with access to millions of students across the country, and its students are proving their capabilities in various fields of life. He further mentioned that various initiatives are being taken through the Japan-Pakistan Advancement Center to promote the Japanese language and culture, professional training, industrial connections, and business cooperation, while this partnership with the Pakistan-Japan Business Forum will make these efforts more effective and fruitful.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Syed Amir Shah, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Tariq Cheema from the Japan-Pakistan Advancement Center, Syed Bahram Shah, Tahir Habib Cheema, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell Dr. Saima Nasir, and other principal officials of the university.
