CCTV Footage of 7-Year-Old Wisal Falling into Drainage Channel Comes to Light; Moments of the Incident Captured, Child’s Body Recovered from Nullah Lai After Three Days

Rawalpindi (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi) – CCTV footage of the tragic incident that occurred a few days ago in Habib Colony has surfaced, clearly showing the moments when 7-year-old Wisal fell into a rainwater drainage channel.

According to the footage, several children were playing near the drain when a young child allegedly pushed Wisal from behind.

Due to the sudden push, Wisal was unable to maintain his balance and fell into the nearby rainwater drain. Because of the strong flow of water, the child disappeared from sight within moments.

Immediately after the incident, rescue services, the district administration, and other relevant departments launched a search operation to locate the child. However, despite continuous efforts, he could not be found in time. After a search operation that continued for three days, Wisal’s body was recovered from the Gawalmandi area of Nullah Lai.

The news of the child’s death has left his family and local residents in mourning. Citizens expressed serious concern over the absence of safety barriers and other protective measures around open and unsafe drains, and demanded effective action from the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, police and other concerned departments have begun examining various aspects of the incident in light of the CCTV footage and other evidence. Parents have also been urged to prevent children from playing near drains and other hazardous locations during the rainy season in order to avoid such tragic incidents.
