Attock (Staff Reporter): A meeting of the District Coordination Committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Attock, Anil Saeed, during which the overall law and order situation, public service delivery, administrative affairs, and the performance of various government departments across the district were reviewed in detail.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Attock, district officers, representatives of the Police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Civil Defence, IESCO, Social Welfare Department, Information Department, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant departments.
During the meeting, various departments presented comprehensive briefings on their performance during the previous month. It was informed that during June 2026, a total of 7,735 traffic challans were issued for traffic law violations, while fines exceeding Rs. 97.565 million were imposed.
Action was also taken against illegal petrol pumps, resulting in the sealing of 38 petrol pumps and the collection of Rs. 490,000 in fines.
The meeting was informed that during the crackdown against illegal LPG decanting, 40 violations were reported, 58 decanting points were sealed, and fines amounting to Rs. 150,000 were imposed.
During the anti-encroachment campaign, 22 permanent and 974 temporary encroachments were removed, while Rs. 197,500 was recovered in fines.
The briefing further revealed that during operations against electricity theft, 20 illegal electricity connections were detected, 15 cases were registered, 13 individuals were arrested, and Rs. 1,002,025 was recovered in fines.
Regarding law and order, the meeting was informed that checking of suspicious individuals and vehicles continued throughout the district. During the reporting period, 16,885 suspicious vehicles were inspected, 11 suspects were arrested, and four cases were registered.
The committee also received detailed briefings on the ongoing anti-begging campaign, the Overseas Pakistanis Desk, the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals, the registration and geo-tagging of religious seminaries (madaris), and public awareness campaigns. It was informed that there are 502 madaris across the district, of which 201 are registered while 301 remain unregistered.
Addressing the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Attock, Anil Saeed, directed all departments to further strengthen interdepartmental coordination, improve the standard of public service delivery, and ensure full implementation of government directives.
He emphasized that effective coordination between law enforcement agencies and the district administration is essential to providing the public with a safe, peaceful, and better living environment and remains the administration’s top priority.
