Islamabad (Izhhar Khan Niazi) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Islamabad Airport has thwarted an attempt to travel to Europe using a fake Netherlands visa, with Saudi Arabia being used as a transit point. The passenger, hailing from Swat, was offloaded and handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of Islamabad for further legal action.

According to the FIA, immigration officials conducted a detailed examination of the travel documents of a passenger bound for Saudi Arabia on Air Blue flight PA 270 during secondary profiling on August 14.

During the inspection, the Netherlands visit visa affixed on page 18 of the passenger’s passport was found to be fake, prompting officials to immediately offload the passenger.

FIA officials indicated that the presence of the fake visa also suggests a possible connection to a human trafficking network. A review of the passenger’s travel records revealed that he had previously traveled to various countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, and Saudi Arabia.

Officials seized the passenger’s mobile phone for forensic examination and further investigation, handing it over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of Islamabad.

The FIA stated that the investigation aims to uncover the role of those providing the fake visa and other individuals involved in the human trafficking network that may have facilitated the passenger, while further legal proceedings are ongoing.
