Public Awareness Campaigns Essential to Prevent Hepatitis
Islamabad (Special Reporter): Chairman of Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party and Chairman of Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation, Khagan Waheed Khawaja, has said that hepatitis cases are increasing day by day. He stressed that emergency measures must be taken to control the disease and that people should be educated through awareness campaigns about ways to prevent hepatitis.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized by the Department of Medicine and Gastroenterology at Rawal Hospital under the auspices of the Rawal Institute of Health Sciences. The seminar was held as part of a symposium at Rawal Hospital and was hosted by Associate Professor Anwar Abbasi and Professor Shah Sattar.
Renowned doctors from across the country and students participated in the seminar. On the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, experts explained the objectives and importance of the seminar through video presentations. They shared recommendations regarding disease prevention, safety measures, medicines, and public awareness.
The experts presented detailed papers highlighting the severity, spread, prevention strategies, and urgent steps required to control hepatitis. A question-and-answer session was also held during the seminar, where experts responded to questions from doctors, paramedical staff, and other participants.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Chief Guest Khagan Waheed Khawaja, Chairman Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party and Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation, distributed certificates among the participants. The organizers also presented a commemorative shield to the chief guest.
Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party Khagan Waheed Khawaja inaugurated the commencement of work on a sewerage system project in Kohsar Town, Jhang Syedan.
Upon his arrival at Kohsar Town Jhang Syedan, local dignitaries including Raja Zubair, Shahid Satti, Raja Musaddiq, and other respected residents warmly welcomed him and presented him with garlands. The chief guest cut the ribbon to formally inaugurate the development project.
Addressing the residents of Kohsar Town, Chairman Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party Khagan Waheed Khawaja said that they understood the problems of the public and, even without being in power, were continuing development projects through self-help efforts and under the Rawal Foundation.
He said, “We are among the people and understand their problems.” He added that a network of development projects was being established and expressed confidence that the future belonged to Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party.
