Implementation of Muharram Security Plan Accelerated; IG Islamabad and Senior Officers Active in the Field

The implementation of the Muharram-ul-Haram security plan has been intensified, with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and senior police officers actively monitoring arrangements in the field. Instructions have been issued to further enhance the use of Safe City cameras, modern technology, foolproof security measures, effective traffic management, and live monitoring systems.

According to details, Islamabad Police has continued its supervision and field visits to ensure comprehensive security arrangements and the maintenance of law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram. In this regard, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, accompanied by senior officers, visited Imambargahs located in Sector G-9 and Shah Allah Ditta, where he reviewed in detail the security arrangements made for religious gatherings and processions.

The IGP inspected the deployed personnel, entry and exit points, security cordons, checking mechanisms, and overall arrangements. He directed officials to further strengthen the effective use of Safe City cameras, advanced technology, and live monitoring systems.

He stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property and the provision of a peaceful environment during Muharram-ul-Haram remain the top priorities of Islamabad Police.

Similarly, senior officers of Islamabad Police visited various Imambargahs, religious gatherings, and procession routes to assess security arrangements. The officers received briefings from police personnel deployed at important locations, including the Sain Boota Darbar Imambargah, and instructed them to remain fully alert during duty, perform their responsibilities with dedication and vigilance, and ensure the maintenance of law and order during religious gatherings.

As part of these efforts, a detailed inspection was also conducted of the procession route and related security arrangements in the Shah Allah Ditta area. Police officers reviewed procession routes, entry and exit points, surveillance systems, and emergency response measures, directing the concerned personnel to ensure complete implementation of the security plan.

Furthermore, security arrangements for Muharram processions across various parts of the city, including police deployment, traffic management plans, and public facilitation measures, were also reviewed. Officers and personnel on duty were given comprehensive briefings regarding the security plan, emergency response procedures, and public safety measures.

Special instructions were issued to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure the timely provision of alternate routes for citizens.

IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi stated that all relevant units of Islamabad Police remain fully active and present in the field to ensure the peaceful conduct of religious gatherings and processions, the safety of citizens, and the smooth flow of traffic throughout the federal capital.
