On the instructions of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), Engineer Amir Khattak, an important meeting regarding land use planning along the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) was held in the RDA Conference Room. The meeting was chaired by Additional Director General RDA, Masood Ahmed Bukhari.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planner RDA, representatives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), the Deputy Director Local Government, the Chief Executive Officer Health Rawalpindi, and representatives of other relevant institutions.
During the meeting, a detailed presentation was given on the decisions made in the previous meeting held on May 15, 2026, and the progress achieved on those decisions. The forum reviewed the priority areas identified for land acquisition in each block and discussed in detail the roles and responsibilities of the relevant departments for the effective implementation of the proposed plan.
Representatives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized the need to allocate appropriate commercial and industrial zones along the Ring Road corridor. The forum was informed that suitable areas for commercial and industrial activities had already been incorporated into the proposed land use plan.
The Deputy Director Local Government and the Chief Executive Officer Health Rawalpindi appreciated the comprehensive land use planning process and described RDA’s efforts in preparing the plan as commendable.
The participants assured their full cooperation and support for the successful implementation of the project. The Deputy Director Local Government further informed the forum that the proposed plan would also be shared with the relevant Tehsil Councils to obtain their feedback and recommendations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to integrated planning, inter-agency cooperation, and sustainable development along the Rawalpindi Ring Road corridor. The Chair thanked all participants for their valuable contributions.
