An important meeting regarding law and order and security arrangements for Tehsil and Circle Isa Khel on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was held under the chairmanship of District Police Officer Mianwali Waqar Azim Kharal and Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Shahid Abbas Kathia.
The meeting was held at Salt Rest House Kalabagh to review security arrangements for the processions and gatherings (Majalis) being held on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
The meeting was attended by SDPO Isa Khel, Assistant Commissioner Isa Khel, members of peace committees from Tehsil and Circle Isa Khel, organizers of Majalis, licensed procession organizers, and officers from various relevant departments.
Addressing the meeting, DPO Mianwali Waqar Azim Kharal said that a comprehensive security plan has been prepared across the district to ensure the peaceful observance of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and provide foolproof security.
He said that police personnel have been assigned duties by name at all processions and Majalis, while volunteers from the Shia community will perform only body-searching duties alongside the police to ensure effective security arrangements.
He further stated that provocative speeches or statements against any sect would not be tolerated under any circumstances in order to promote religious harmony, brotherhood, and peace.
He directed that speakers, religious scholars, or Zakirs who are included in the Fourth Schedule, those whose entry into the district is prohibited, or those whose speeches have been restricted, should not be invited to any religious gathering.
The DPO Mianwali warned that strict legal action would be taken against those sharing material promoting religious hatred, provocation, or sectarianism on social media. He said that action has already been taken against such elements in the past and similar indiscriminate legal action will continue in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mianwali Shahid Abbas Kathia said that the district administration has completed arrangements for the installation of CCTV cameras along procession routes, proper lighting, cleanliness, and provision of other basic facilities.
He directed the Chief Officers of municipal and town committees to ensure that all arrangements are completed on time according to traditions so that mourners do not face any difficulties.
He also appealed to the organizers of Majalis to install CCTV cameras at Imambargahs and sensitive locations. He expressed hope that members of the peace committees would participate in major processions and extend full cooperation to the district administration and police for maintaining peace.
The peace committee members, organizers of Majalis, and licensed procession organizers present at the meeting assured the district administration and Mianwali Police that they would continue providing all possible cooperation to maintain law and order, promote religious harmony, and make security arrangements successful during Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
At the conclusion of the meeting, the DPO Mianwali and Deputy Commissioner Mianwali thanked all participants and stated that mutual cooperation, unity, and responsible roles are essential for maintaining a peaceful environment.
