Islamabad Police Launches Crackdown Against Criminal Elements, 36 Suspects Arrested

23 proclaimed offenders among those arrested; drugs, liquor and illegal weapons recovered, multiple cases registered

On the special directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police has continued its effective crackdown against criminal elements to prevent crime and ensure the arrest of wanted individuals in the federal capital.

Police teams from various stations carried out operations and arrested 36 criminals, including 23 proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes. Drugs, liquor, weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, teams from Aabpara, Kohsar, Tarnol, Industrial Area, Shams Colony, Koral, Kirpa, Humak, Loi Bher and Bani Gala police stations arrested 13 suspects involved in drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons.

The arrested suspects were found in possession of 127 grams of hashish, 210 grams of heroin, 140 grams of ice, 35 bottles of liquor, one Kalashnikov, one gun, five pistols of different calibers, and a large quantity of ammunition.

Police registered cases against the arrested individuals under relevant sections of the law and started further investigations. During a special campaign against proclaimed offenders and court absconders, 23 more wanted suspects were also taken into custody.

SSP Security Operations Islamabad Suleman Zafar said that Islamabad Police remains fully active to protect the lives and property of citizens and no criminal element will be allowed to disturb law and order in the city.

He appealed to citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to the concerned police station or the emergency helpline “Pukar 15” so that Islamabad can be made a crime-free city through cooperation between police and the public.
