Rejecting Misleading Propaganda in the Name of the Supreme Court, He Demands Notice by Punjab Chief Minister
ISLAMABAD (Special Correspondent): Sahibzada Yousaf Akram Abbasi, the Shariah and legal heir of Hazrat Khawaja Imam Bakhsh Sirani (RA), has demanded immediate implementation of the final decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan regarding 87 murabba land in Khanqah Sharif.
Addressing a press conference at the National Press Club Islamabad, Sahibzada Yousaf Akram Abbasi said that in the case, the Supreme Court had dismissed CRP No. 384/2023 and CRP No. 385/2023 on January 23, 2023, and dismissed the review petition on November 11, 2023, thereby upholding the decisions of the Civil Court, Sessions Court and High Court in favour of Mian Ahmad Bakhsh and others. He said that the decision had subsequently attained full legal effect.
He said that according to the court decisions, the genuine Shariah and legal heirs of Hazrat Khawaja Imam Bakhsh Sirani (RA) were the Abbasi family, while no legal connection of inheritance, lineage, guardianship or property had been established between Mian Najib Owaisi, Mian Shoaib Owaisi or any member of the Owaisi family and the property.
During the press conference, he said that Mian Najibuddin Owaisi was a former member of the National Assembly, while his son Usman Najib Owaisi was currently an MNA from Bahawalpur and his brother Shoaib Owaisi was a member of the Punjab Assembly.
He alleged that despite the dismissal of the review petition by the Supreme Court, the genuine heirs were being prevented from having mutations registered in their names due to political influence.
He said that applications had been submitted to the Commissioner Bahawalpur, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur and the Board of Revenue for implementation, but despite the passage of three years, the Supreme Court’s orders had not been implemented. As a result, he said, the rightful claimants were still being made to wander despite having won the case.
Referring to the Punjab Control of Organized Crimes Act 2025, Sahibzada Yousaf Akram Abbasi said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif should begin action against illegal occupations from members of her own party and ensure that the Supreme Court’s decision was implemented in letter and spirit by registering the mutations in the names of the heirs.
He clarified that on July 16, 2026, before a two-member bench of Supreme Court Court No. 4, only petitions filed by a few bona fide purchasers under CPLA 3303/2024 and Article 12(2) came up for hearing. These petitions had previously been dismissed by the Lahore High Court Bahawalpur Bench.
He said that the Supreme Court had declared the petitions to be outside its jurisdiction and referred them to the Lahore High Court Bahawalpur Bench. However, the formal written order had not been issued by July 21.
He said that neither Mian Najib Owaisi nor any member of his family was a party to those petitions. However, he alleged that print media, web channels and Facebook had misleadingly reported that the Supreme Court had decided the 87-murabba land case in their favour, which was contrary to the facts.
He demanded that the Chief Justice of Pakistan take notice of the distortion of court decisions and the spread of false information in the name of the Supreme Court and order legal action.
In conclusion, he demanded that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Chief Secretary Punjab and the Commissioner Bahawalpur Division ensure the immediate implementation of the Supreme Court’s final decision and transfer the property to the genuine heirs.
