Respect for Martyrs, Love for the Homeland and Public Service Are Bright Teachings of Islam; Insulting Martyrs Will Not Be Tolerated Under Any Circumstances, Says Syed Riaz Hussain Shah

Rawalpindi (General Reporter) — Patron-in-Chief of Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, has said that Islam has granted martyrs an exceptionally high status; therefore, any insult or mockery of a martyr is completely unacceptable. The concept of martyrdom reminds us of the great sacrifices of Karbala, where lives were sacrificed for the supremacy of truth and righteousness.

Syed Riaz Hussain Shah was addressing the weekly gathering of Zikr and Quranic teachings held at Idara Taleemat-e-Islamia, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed. The event was hosted by Allama Sheikh Muhammad Qasim, while a large number of religious scholars also attended.

Addressing the gathering, Allama Syed Riaz Hussain Shah said that love for the homeland is part of faith and the practical teachings of the Seerah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ. He said that the love of the Holy Prophet ﷺ for his homeland conveys a clear message to the Muslim Ummah that the honour, security and stability of one’s country should always be given priority.

He made it clear that neither disrespect toward martyrs nor insult to the homeland would be tolerated. Syed Riaz Hussain Shah said that a person who performs his responsibilities with the aim of earning Allah Almighty’s pleasure, honesty and sincerity is rewarded for his actions. The sacrifices of martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence of the homeland and protection of the people are a source of pride for the entire nation.

He urged the government and influential members of society to understand the poverty, inflation and other problems faced by the people and to refrain from making decisions that further increase their difficulties. He said that serving the people, providing justice and creating ease for citizens are the true signs of genuine leadership.

Concluding his address, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah said that a martyr holds an unparalleled status in the sight of Allah Almighty and, according to the blessed Hadith, a martyr would wish to sacrifice his life again and again in the path of Allah.

He prayed that Allah Almighty grant Pakistan peace, stability and prosperity, elevate the ranks of the martyrs, and grant the entire nation the ability to maintain unity, brotherhood and mutual respect.
