One Security Official Injured in Firing Incident; Police Launch Further Investigation

Rawalpindi (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi): One security official was injured in a firing incident targeting security forces on Mall Road, while the individual who allegedly opened fire was killed in retaliatory action.

Rawalpindi Police has released important details regarding the incident.

According to a police spokesperson, at approximately 11:15 a.m. on August 11, a man identified as Muhammad Hussain suddenly opened fire on a security forces patrol team on Mall Road.

As a result of the firing, one member of the patrol team was injured.

According to the spokesperson, security forces immediately responded effectively to the attack, killing Muhammad Hussain at the scene.

Police officials said that important evidence was recovered during the investigation of a mobile phone and other items found in the possession of the deceased attacker.

Preliminary investigations have reportedly revealed evidence suggesting that the attacker had an affiliation with a particular political party.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway, while legal action and other aspects of the case are being examined in light of the evidence recovered.
