Chairman Senate meets high-level South Korean delegation, discusses joint ventures, technology transfer, and investment opportunities

Islamabad (Izhar Khan Niazi): Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani met with a high-level delegation from the Republic of Korea, led by Mr. Cho, Chief Executive Officer of KOA-Bio. The delegation also included representatives from KOA Corporation, Scale Sniper, and several leading South Korean companies operating in the fields of biotechnology, artificial intelligence, healthcare, and advanced medical technologies.

Welcoming the delegation, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani stated that Pakistan highly values its longstanding friendly relations with South Korea and is keen to further expand bilateral cooperation in biotechnology, healthcare, artificial intelligence, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and information technology.

Highlighting Pakistan’s conducive environment for research, innovation, and investment, Gilani invited South Korean companies to explore investment opportunities in joint ventures, technology transfer, medical equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, AI-driven medical research, and digital healthcare. He noted that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), through its single-window mechanism, is providing efficient and expedited services to foreign investors.

The Chairman Senate further emphasized that bilateral relations could be elevated to new heights by strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, enhancing the role of the Pakistan–South Korea Parliamentary Friendship Group, and expanding cooperation between academic and research institutions in both countries.

The South Korean delegation thanked the Chairman Senate for the warm welcome and appreciated Pakistan’s scientific capabilities, research potential, and investor-friendly environment. The delegation also reaffirmed its commitment to establishing long-term and meaningful cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of biotechnology, healthcare, artificial intelligence, research, and investment.
