Both sides reaffirm commitment to enhancing parliamentary ties, trade, culture, tourism, and people-to-people relations; Ambassador’s wife presents a book on Pakistan as a gift
Islamabad (Izhar Khan Niazi): Adviser to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan and Ambassador of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, Misbah Khar, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the two sides held detailed discussions on a range of issues of mutual interest, including the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, parliamentary cooperation, trade, cultural exchanges, tourism, and the promotion of people-to-people contacts.
On the occasion, Misbah Khar conveyed the best wishes of Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its historic and strategic partnership with Azerbaijan. She thanked Azerbaijan for its consistent support to Pakistan on regional and international issues, stating that the relationship between the two countries is founded on mutual trust, shared values, and a common vision for peace and prosperity.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov appreciated the positive progress in bilateral relations and said that Azerbaijan is keen to further expand cooperation with Pakistan across various sectors. He noted that the leadership of both countries attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral engagement and deepening people-to-people relations.
During the meeting, the Ambassador’s wife, Tarana Farhadova, presented Misbah Khar with a copy of her book based on her experiences during her stay in Pakistan. The book highlights Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, hospitality, and social values through a warm and appreciative perspective.
Receiving the book, Misbah Khar described the gift as a beautiful symbol of friendship, respect, and goodwill towards the people of Pakistan. She said that such literary contributions play a significant role in promoting cultural harmony, mutual trust, and stronger public relations between the two countries. She added that the book’s positive portrayal of Pakistan would help present the country’s true and positive image to the international community while further strengthening the bonds of friendship between the people of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding Pakistan-Azerbaijan bilateral relations through parliamentary diplomacy, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people engagement, while promoting greater cooperation across diverse sectors.
