Special Measures by Rawalpindi Horticulture Agency for the Beautification of Rawal Park and Growth of Plants in Its Nursery

Rawalpindi (City Reporter): The Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi has launched special initiatives for the beautification, maintenance, and cleanliness of Rawal Park, one of the city’s largest recreational parks, as well as for improving plant growth in the nursery attached to the park. These efforts aim not only to enhance the park’s beauty but also to promote tree plantation and environmentally friendly activities among citizens.

On the directives of Managing Director Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi, Ahmad Hassan Ranjha, the maintenance and care of various seasonal and ornamental plants are being carried out in accordance with modern horticultural practices. The cultivation of colorful flowers and decorative plants along the park’s entrance and exit routes, walking tracks, green lawns, and recreational areas is further enhancing the park’s visual appeal.

Regular grass cutting, tree pruning, effective irrigation arrangements, and improved cleanliness standards are being maintained throughout the park. In addition, seating areas and other public facilities are being regularly maintained to ensure a comfortable and pleasant environment for visitors.

Modern horticultural techniques are also being utilized in the nursery associated with Rawal Park to support healthy plant growth. Various species of flowering, shade-giving, fruit-bearing, and ornamental plants are being cultivated to meet the requirements of ongoing tree plantation campaigns and green belts across the city. Under the supervision of horticultural experts, plants are being provided with quality fertilizers, proper irrigation, and care according to seasonal requirements.

Special attention is being given to the propagation of plant species that are compatible with the local climate, enabling them to thrive more effectively in urban areas and contribute significantly to reducing environmental pollution. To achieve this objective, the cultivation and propagation of various types of trees and plants have been accelerated.

The Horticulture Agency Rawalpindi is also involving educational institutions, social organizations, and community representatives in plantation campaigns so that more people can contribute toward the vision of a greener Pakistan.
