Modern Kitchen with Capacity to Prepare Quality Meals for 15,000 People Daily to Be Established in Rawalpindi
Islamabad (News Reporter): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) for the establishment of a modern central kitchen in Rawalpindi. The agreement was signed by Managing Director of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Senator Shaheen Khalid Butt, and TİKA Country Head Saliha Tuna. Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, was also present at the signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, a modern semi-automated central kitchen will be established in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad region in accordance with international food safety and quality standards. The facility will have the capacity to prepare quality meals for 15,000 people daily. Upon completion, the project will be handed over to Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal to ensure the regular provision of nutritious meals to orphaned children, low-income families, attendants of patients in hospitals, laborers, and other deserving individuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Shaheen Khalid Butt described the project as a practical manifestation of the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye. He said the initiative would significantly contribute to meeting the nutritional needs of underprivileged segments of society.
Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, stated that over the past 16 years, TİKA has successfully completed hundreds of development projects in Pakistan and expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow even stronger in the future.
