A tragic traffic accident near Katlang on the Swat Expressway resulted in the martyrdom of National Highways and Motorway Police Sub-Inspector Nizamuddin, while Sub-Inspector Akbar Ali and a Fine Collection staff member sustained injuries.

According to the Motorway Police, Sub-Inspector Nizamuddin and Sub-Inspector Akbar Ali were performing routine speed enforcement duties when a speeding car lost control and struck them, leading to the unfortunate incident.

A young girl traveling in the vehicle involved in the accident lost her life, while her parents were injured. All injured individuals were immediately shifted to Mardan Medical Complex, where Sub-Inspector Akbar Ali and the Fine Collection official are currently receiving treatment.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred due to the alleged negligence, reckless driving, and overspeeding of the car driver. The Motorway Police have launched a further investigation into the incident.

Following the accident, officers and personnel of the Motorway Police paid tribute to the services of the martyred Sub-Inspector Nizamuddin and prayed for his elevated status as well as the speedy recovery of the injured.
