Murree (Raja Usman Ali): An important high-level meeting was held at Jinnah Hall, Murree, to review law and order, security arrangements, and administrative preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram. The meeting was chaired by Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Murree, officials from the district administration, police, Rescue 1122, Health Department, Local Government Department, and other relevant government institutions. In addition, Shia and Sunni religious scholars, representatives of the traders’ association, media personnel, and members of civil society participated in the meeting to promote inter-sect harmony and cooperation.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of foolproof security arrangements for Muharram processions and religious gatherings (Majalis), effective traffic management, cleanliness measures, emergency medical services, and other administrative matters. Special emphasis was placed on maintaining inter-sect harmony and ensuring a peaceful atmosphere throughout the district.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak directed all concerned departments to perform their duties with complete responsibility, close coordination, and an effective strategy to ensure maximum facilitation for mourners. He stressed the importance of further strengthening the environment of peace, tolerance, and religious harmony in Murree.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram and promoting inter-sect harmony. They pledged that all institutions and segments of society would work together and play their full role in ensuring a peaceful and secure environment throughout the holy month.
