Islamabad Police has intensified preparations to ensure foolproof security during Muharram-ul-Haram, with Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, personally supervising all security arrangements.
According to details, on the special directives of IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a comprehensive and effective security plan has been devised to ensure the peaceful conduct of Muharram processions and religious gatherings, as well as the protection of citizens’ lives and property. Maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram has been declared the top priority, and all security measures will be implemented without exception.
The IG Islamabad will personally monitor the execution of the security plan to ensure its effective implementation. In this regard, a central control room has been established at Safe City Islamabad, where all processions and gatherings will be continuously monitored through advanced cameras and surveillance systems.
The IG stated that special security arrangements are being made at Imambargahs, religious gatherings, and procession routes. Effective checking procedures will be enforced at entry and exit points of Imambargahs, while adequate parking facilities, improved lighting, and other security measures will also be ensured. Patrolling in areas adjacent to Imambargahs will be further strengthened to prevent any untoward incidents in a timely manner.
Issuing instructions to officers, IG Islamabad directed that modern technology and all available resources be utilized to their fullest extent for the security of processions and gatherings during Muharram-ul-Haram. All senior officers, SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs of the concerned police stations will remain present in the field and personally supervise security arrangements at Imambargahs, processions, and religious gatherings.
He further stated that surveillance systems at sensitive locations are being enhanced and security measures will be further tightened. IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi added that close coordination and effective communication with all relevant institutions will be maintained to ensure a prompt and efficient response to any emergency situation.
He made it clear that any negligence or carelessness in the performance of duties will not be tolerated. All officers and personnel have been directed to perform their responsibilities with complete vigilance, professionalism, and a strong sense of duty.
