Rawalpindi (Sanober Kiani) – City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Hassan Waqar Cheema, visited Gujar Khan to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. ASP Gujar Khan Syed Daniyal Hassan, Assistant Commissioner Gujar Khan Khizar Zahoor Goraya, SHO Gujar Khan, and other relevant officers accompanied them during the visit.
The CPO and Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of the route of the central 10th Muharram procession and reviewed security as well as other administrative arrangements. Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani also visited the Central Imambargah Imamia Gujar Khan, where he inspected security measures and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers.
Later, the CPO and Deputy Commissioner visited the Model Bazaar and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gujar Khan, where they reviewed security arrangements, public facilities, and other administrative matters. The officers directed the concerned staff to further improve arrangements and ensure the provision of the best possible services to the public.
CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani also visited Gujar Khan Police Station and met with police officers. On the occasion, he instructed investigation officers to ensure merit and justice in the investigation of cases under all circumstances.
The CPO stated that foolproof security arrangements are being ensured during Muharram-ul-Haram and that all available resources are being utilized to maintain law and order, promote unity and harmony, and provide citizens with a safe and peaceful environment.
He said that Rawalpindi Police is working tirelessly day and night to ensure the security of Muharram processions and religious gatherings, while senior officers are personally supervising all security arrangements.
Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani further stated that the code of conduct and security-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the Punjab Government will be strictly implemented to ensure the maintenance of peace and order during Muharram-ul-Haram and to provide complete security to mourners.
