Named Suspects Accused of Attempted Murder and Snatching Motorcycles at Gunpoint; Police Launch Investigation
Rawalpindi/Kallar Syedan (Sanober Kiani): Two young men were injured after armed suspects allegedly opened indiscriminate fire over a long-standing feud in the Miana Mohra Chowk area within the jurisdiction of Kallar Syedan Police Station. The suspects also allegedly took away two motorcycles while fleeing the scene. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to the police, the case was registered on the complaint of Muhammad Adil, son of Zulfikar. The complainant stated that earlier in the day, a minor altercation had taken place among Suzuki drivers at Shah Bagh, which was later settled amicably by mutual consent. At around 9:30 p.m., Muhammad Adil, along with his companions Abdul Samad, Faisal Mahmood, Abdul Hameed, Faizan Arshad, Muqeet, and Usama, was returning home on motorcycles after playing a volleyball match and having dinner when the suspects, who had allegedly been lying in wait near Miana Mohra Chowk, intercepted them.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Nasir, son of Riaz, allegedly fired a .30 bore pistol, with the bullet striking Abdul Samad in the head. Another suspect, Umar, son of Barkhurdar, allegedly fired a shot that struck Faisal Mahmood in the right arm. The FIR further alleges that the other named suspects also opened indiscriminate fire, creating panic at the scene. The attackers allegedly took the victims’ motorcycles with them before fleeing.
The injured were immediately shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Kallar Syedan, where they are receiving medical treatment. Police visited both the crime scene and the hospital, obtained the medico-legal certificates (MLCs) of the injured, and registered a case against the nominated suspects under Sections 324, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complainant’s application.
Police said that the investigation is underway from all aspects, raids are being conducted to arrest the suspects, and they will soon be brought before the law.
