Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Receives Him Warmly at Nur Khan Air Base; Expresses Commitment to Promoting Bilateral Relations and Regional Cooperation

ISLAMABAD (Izhar Khan Niazi): Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Islamabad on an official visit to Pakistan along with a high-level delegation, where Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi warmly received him at Nur Khan Air Base.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry presented the Iranian Interior Minister with a bouquet, while Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam was also present on the occasion.

During the reception, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that he welcomed his “brother” Eskandar Momeni to Pakistan. He expressed hope that the Iranian Interior Minister would bring good news of positive developments for both countries during his visit. He said the visit would further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran and expressed hope for positive progress in the regional situation as well.

During his meeting with Mohsin Naqvi, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni said that he was extremely pleased to meet his brother again. He said that relations between Pakistan and Iran were exemplary and that he had always appreciated the hospitality extended by the Pakistani government and people.

Mohsin Naqvi expressed the hope that the Iranian Interior Minister’s visit would prove to be an important milestone in promoting cooperation between the two brotherly countries, protecting mutual interests and further strengthening bilateral ties.

The high-level delegation accompanying the Iranian Interior Minister includes the Governor-General of Sistan and Baluchestan, Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister, Deputy Minister for Urban Development and Transport, head of the National Iranian Oil Company, special representative of the Minister of Agriculture and other senior officials.

During the visit, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni will also meet Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Discussions will focus on bilateral relations, border cooperation, trade, security and the overall situation in the region.
