Rawalpindi (Syed Shahid Waheed Hashmi): An unidentified body was recovered from a drain near Chaklala Bridge, causing concern among local residents.

Upon receiving the report, Rescue 1122 responded immediately by dispatching three emergency vehicles to the scene. Rescue personnel launched an operation to retrieve the body from the drain.

Police also arrived at the scene shortly after being informed of the incident. The area was cordoned off, and officers began collecting evidence while initiating the necessary legal formalities. Rescue officials and police personnel jointly carried out the operation.

The deceased could not be identified initially, and the cause of death was not immediately known. Police shifted the body to a hospital for medico-legal procedures and have begun efforts to establish the victim’s identity and notify the next of kin once identification is confirmed.

According to the police, all aspects of the incident are being thoroughly investigated. Further legal action will be taken in light of the post-mortem report and other evidence collected during the investigation.
