33 PhD Research Synopses and 61 MS/MPhil Research Topics Presented for Approval

The 78th meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) was held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood. During the meeting, research synopses of 33 PhD scholars and research topics of 61 MS/MPhil scholars were presented for approval.
On the first day of the two-day meeting, research synopses of 19 PhD scholars and 13 MS/MPhil research topics from the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies were reviewed. Participants appreciated the quality of research work, academic depth, and critical approach demonstrated by the scholars and acknowledged their research efforts.
The meeting was attended by university deans, senior professors, faculty members, and renowned educationist Professor Dr. Aneela Kamal, Vice Chancellor of Women University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who participated as an external expert. The agenda of the meeting was presented by BASR Director Professor Dr. Zafar Iqbal Lillah.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood directed all four faculties to ensure the timely completion of all research stages for PhD scholars so that research proposals could be presented within six months after completion of coursework.
He emphasized that quality research and timely completion of academic programs play a vital role in strengthening the standards of higher education.
The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the services of former BASR Director Professor Dr. Irshad Ahmed Arshad, stating that he had provided strong administrative foundations for the board. He expressed hope that the newly appointed Director, Professor Dr. Zafar Iqbal Lillah, would continue this progress and further improve BASR’s performance, research activities, and administrative system.
On the second day of the meeting, 14 MS/MPhil research topics from the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies, 2 from the Faculty of Education, 24 from the Faculty of Sciences, and 22 from the Faculty of Social Sciences will be presented for approval.
