Two-Day Cricket Festival Set to Begin on August 6 and 7 with Participation of Eight Teams

A prestigious trophy unveiling ceremony of the “Quaid-e-Azam Azadi Cup 2026”, organized by Asconcom Company as part of Pakistan Independence Day celebrations, was held at a local hotel in Jeddah.
The event was attended by prominent social, business, and media personalities from the Pakistani community, along with owners, captains, officials, and players of all eight participating teams.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, while the event proceedings were conducted professionally by Syed Jafar and Shaheen Afridi.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Press Consul of the Pakistan Consulate Jeddah, Irfan Chaudhry. Distinguished community figures, including Chaudhry Akram Gujjar, Chaudhry Azhar Warraich, and other notable members of the Pakistani community, were also present.
Addressing the ceremony, Asconcom Chairman Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood said that the purpose of organizing Quaid-e-Azam Azadi Cup 2026 is to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day in a befitting manner, encourage youth towards healthy and positive activities, promote sports, and further strengthen unity, brotherhood, and national solidarity among overseas Pakistanis.
He said that sports play an important role in developing discipline, teamwork, tolerance, leadership qualities, and patriotic spirit among young people. He added that Asconcom considers organizing such positive and constructive events as part of its social responsibility every year.
Members of the organizing committee, Engineer Abdul Mateen and Engineer Syed Jafar, provided a detailed briefing on tournament arrangements and said that eight strong teams would compete for the title during the two-day cricket event.
They said cricket fans would witness exciting and high-quality matches, while all arrangements have been finalized according to international standards.
According to the organizers, all matches of Quaid-e-Azam Azadi Cup 2026 will be played on August 6 and 7 at Jeddah Nets Ground, where a large number of Pakistani community members are expected to attend and support their favorite teams.
The tournament is expected to become a prominent and memorable part of Pakistan Independence Day celebrations.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the magnificent trophy of Quaid-e-Azam Azadi Cup 2026 was formally unveiled. Afterwards, team owners, captains, players, and organizers expressed their commitment to making the event memorable and successful by demonstrating high sporting standards, sportsmanship, and mutual respect.
