Commissioner Rawalpindi Directs Road Marking and Beautification Work on Murree Road

Rawalpindi (Staff Reporter): A meeting was held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) under the chairmanship of Commissioner Rawalpindi and Director General RDA Salman Ghani to review the proposed road marking and beautification works on Murree Road and its major intersections.

During the meeting, the Director Engineering RDA gave a detailed briefing on the proposed road-marking works and the implementation plan. The briefing included details of zebra crossings, lane markings, kerb-stone painting and other related works on major roads and intersections across Rawalpindi.

It was informed that zebra crossings and lane markings have been proposed at all major intersections on both sides of Murree Road, with special attention to locations experiencing heavy traffic and high pedestrian movement. The proposed road markings will help clearly identify traffic lanes, guide motorists, provide safer crossings for pedestrians and improve traffic discipline at major intersections.

In addition, kerb-stone painting and other beautification measures will be carried out at selected locations, which will further enhance the appearance of the city’s major thoroughfare.

The initiative aims to improve traffic management, promote safer travel on roads, facilitate pedestrians and motorists, and enhance the overall appearance of Rawalpindi.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Salman Ghani reviewed the proposed works in detail and directed the concerned officers to ensure that all projects are completed on time, according to approved standards and in an effective manner. He directed that the assigned works be initiated on a priority basis and implemented in accordance with the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab.

He further instructed that all activities be completed within the stipulated timeframe and according to the approved quality standards.

The commissioner emphasized that road-marking and beautification works should be carried out in a coordinated manner so that significant improvements can be seen in traffic flow, pedestrian safety and the overall appearance of Rawalpindi.

He also directed the concerned officers to maintain close coordination and cooperation throughout the implementation process and ensure the timely and quality completion of the works.

The meeting was attended by Additional DG RDA Masood Ahmed Bukhari, Director Engineering Komal Chaudhry, Director Land Ghazanfar Ali Awan, Deputy Director Engineering Jawad Arshad and other relevant officers.
