Islamabad (Izhhar Khan Niazi) – Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani stated that Pakistan and China are ironclad friends and strategic partners who stand by each other through every trial. He emphasized that the friendship between Pakistan and China enjoys broad political support in the country and has become a symbol of national consensus. Speaking as the chief guest at a seminar held in Islamabad, the Senate Chairman noted that exchanges between the Communist Party of China and political parties in Pakistan provide an important platform for mutual understanding, trust, and strengthening bilateral relations. He welcomed the Chinese delegation upon their arrival in Pakistan. Gillani remarked that Pakistan-China relations have evolved beyond traditional diplomatic ties into a comprehensive partnership based on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests, and regular interactions between political parties and institutions are crucial for further strengthening these bilateral foundations. He highlighted that China’s remarkable development and socio-economic transformation serve as vital guidance for developing countries, and parliamentary and political links are essential for further stabilizing Pakistan-China relations. He reaffirmed the commitment to expanding Pakistan-China cooperation. Gillani praised the continuous support from the Chinese leadership and people for Pakistan, noting that the friendship between Pakistan and China holds a unique place in the hearts of the Pakistani people. The constructive and fruitful discussions at the seminar are expected to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. At the conclusion of the seminar, the Senate Chairman expressed his commitment to enhancing political, parliamentary, and institutional ties and advancing the all-weather strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. He also congratulated the Chinese leadership and people on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The seminar was attended by a delegation from the international department of the Communist Party of China, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, representatives from various Pakistani political parties, and other prominent figures. The Senate Chairman mentioned that CPEC 2.0 is providing new opportunities for cooperation between Pakistan and China in various sectors, including agriculture, information technology, clean energy, minerals and mining, and human resource development, which will further promote Pakistan’s economic and industrial growth. Later, Mr. Liu Daxiu, the first-level inspector of the Institute of Party Building Research of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met with Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani along with his delegation. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, political and parliamentary links, and the promotion of cooperation. The Senate Chairman stated that China is a fundamental pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy, and the links between political parties and parliaments play a significant role in further strengthening bilateral relations.

Special Message from the President

Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani also read a special message from President Asif Ali Zardari at the seminar, in which the President stated that the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China has withstood the test of time and continues to play a vital role in the interests of both countries and their peoples. The President noted that this is an important opportunity to benefit from experiences in the development of political parties, governance, and state administration, and praised the achievements of the Communist Party of China in guiding the Chinese people towards development and prosperity. He mentioned that political parties can draw lessons from China’s experiences to adopt effective governance and better serve the public. The President added that Pakistan-China relations are becoming stronger based on mutual cooperation, trust, and shared interests, and enhancing political and parliamentary links between the two countries is a pressing necessity.
