Jeddah Hosts Colorful Independence Day Celebration

On August 14, a grand, colorful, and patriotic Independence Day celebration was held in Jeddah under the auspices of the Pakistan Investors Forum and the Pakistan National Unity Forum, with a large number of the Pakistani community in attendance.

The chief guest was Ms. Fareena Arshad, Deputy Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah. In her address, she congratulated the Pakistani community on Independence Day and urged them to highlight Pakistan’s best image through their ethics, character, hard work, and positive attitude while living abroad. She also praised the community’s positive role in adhering to Saudi laws and strengthening relations between the two countries.

Ms. Fareena Arshad stated that Independence Day is not just a day of celebration but also an opportunity to remember the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the sacrifices of our elders, and the great struggle for the creation of Pakistan. She congratulated the management of the Pakistan Investors Forum and the Pakistan National Unity Forum for organizing such a beautiful event, emphasizing that such gatherings promote brotherhood, unity, culture, and mutual harmony within the community.

Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, Chairman of the Pakistan Investors Forum, also congratulated all Pakistanis on Independence Day, stating that regardless of where we live in the world, our greatest identity is being Pakistani. He emphasized that Pakistan is our homeland, and every Pakistani should play their part in its development.

In his keynote address, he delivered a beautiful message and specifically praised Trade Development Counselor Saadia Khan and Community Welfare Counselor Azka for their services to promote Pakistani investors and the community, announcing awards for them on this national day.

On this occasion, Chaudhry Tasveer Hussain, the acting convener of the Pakistan National Unity Forum, also spoke about the Pakistan Movement, the struggle for the creation of Pakistan, and the significance of Independence Day. Pakistani children presented beautiful tableaux on national songs, while Pakistani singers Ali Mehdi, Adnan, and Pakistan Idol singer Muskaan filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervor through their performances. Attendees waved the national flag with great enthusiasm.

General Secretary Abdul Khaliq Lak thanked all the distinguished guests, participants, and organizers, shedding light on the objectives and importance of Independence Day.

The event was attended by former Federal Minister Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain, Masood Ahmed Puri, prominent figures like Chaudhry Muhammad Azam Kaleer, Chaudhry Azhar Abbas Waraich, Chaudhry Mubashir Afzal Cheema, and various political, social, and community personalities, along with a large number of women and members of the Pakistani community. Special prayers were offered for Pakistan’s security, development, prosperity, and stability at the end of the event. Participants congratulated the management of the Pakistan Investors Forum and the Pakistan National Unity Forum for organizing this splendid and successful event.
