Three Suspects Arrested in Five Operations; 75.57kg of Drugs Worth Over Rs. 12 Million Seized

ISLAMABAD (Asif Malik): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a crackdown against drug smuggling in various cities across the country, arresting three suspects in five separate operations and recovering 75.57 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs. 12 million.

According to an ANF spokesperson, 17 capsules containing 126 grams of cocaine were recovered from the stomach of a passenger traveling to Jeddah at Islamabad Airport.

At Jinnah International Airport, ANF officials recovered 627 grams of heroin from the bag of a passenger traveling to Bahrain. Following information provided by the passenger, another suspect was also intercepted, from whom 200 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine) was recovered.

In Dalbandin, Chagai district, ANF officials recovered 75 kilograms of opium from a vehicle.

During a search of a parcel at a courier office on Spiny Road, Quetta, officials recovered 1.4 kilograms of hashish (cannabis resin) concealed inside cosmetics.

In another operation at a courier office on University Road, Peshawar, ANF officials recovered 35 grams of opium from inside a submersible water pump. They also recovered 260 ecstasy tablets weighing 180 grams.

According to the ANF, cases have been registered in connection with all the operations under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997, and further investigations have been launched.
