Affected family claims timely assistance was not provided despite multiple calls to Police Helpline 15; appeals to Punjab Chief Minister, RPO, DPO Muzaffargarh and Assistant Commissioner Alipur for a transparent investigation

Alipur (Web Desk): A case involving an alleged failure to provide relief to a poor family has emerged in Mauza Langarwa, Basti Ismail Wali, Mauza 4/13. The affected citizen, Akhtar Hussain, has alleged that certain individuals attempted to forcibly occupy his privately owned land, while he and his family members were continuously harassed. He further alleged that firing was also carried out, creating fear and panic in the area.

According to the affected family, they contacted Police Helpline 15 several times during the incident. However, they claimed that timely and effective police assistance could not be provided, leaving the family feeling unsafe.

Akhtar Hussain said that his family is still waiting for justice and that they have serious concerns regarding the safety and security of their lives and property. The affected family has levelled the allegations against Muhammad Javed, son of Qalandar Hussain. However, these allegations can only be verified through an independent and impartial investigation.

The affected family has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ghazi Khan, the District Police Officer (DPO) Muzaffargarh, the Assistant Commissioner Alipur and other relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the matter and order a transparent, high-level investigation. They demanded that if the allegations against any party are proven, indiscriminate legal action should be taken in accordance with the law and complete protection of the family’s life and property should be ensured.

Local residents have also demanded that the land dispute be resolved in accordance with the law and that no influential individual be allowed to take the law into their own hands. They further called for strict legal action against anyone involved in firing, threats or any attempt to forcibly occupy land, so that public confidence in law enforcement agencies can be further strengthened.
