ANF Crackdown Across the Country; Over 220 Kilograms of Drugs Recovered and Five Suspects Arrested in Five Operations, Including Near Educational Institutions

Rawalpindi (Asif Malik) – The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out a nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking, including operations around educational institutions, arresting five suspects in five separate operations and recovering 220.720 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs16.6 million.

According to an ANF spokesperson, during an operation against drug dealing in the vicinity of educational institutions, two motorcycle-riding suspects were arrested near a university in Peshawar. A total of 4.8 kilograms of hashish was recovered from their possession. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.

In another operation at Jinnah International Airport, a passenger traveling to Bahrain was arrested after 312 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine) was recovered from shoes in which the narcotics had been skillfully concealed.

In a separate operation, ANF recovered 8 grams of weed from a parcel that had arrived from the United Kingdom at a courier office located in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi.

ANF also conducted an operation near Mandi Morr in Rawalpindi, arresting two motorcycle-riding suspects and recovering 15.6 kilograms of hashish from their possession.

Meanwhile, during an operation near Makran in the Gwadar district, ANF recovered 200 kilograms of hashish. However, no arrests were made during that operation.

According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations have been initiated. The spokesperson added that indiscriminate operations against drug dealers and traffickers will continue across the country.
