ANF Cracks Down on Drug Dealers Across the Country, Arrests Eight Suspects Including a Woman

Six Operations Near Educational Institutions and in Various Cities Result in the Seizure of 30.04 Kilograms of Narcotics Worth Over Rs. 6.4 Million

Rawalpindi (Asif Malik): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its crackdown against drug trafficking and drug dealing near educational institutions and across various cities of the country. During six separate operations, ANF arrested eight suspects, including a woman, and recovered 30.04 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs. 6.4 million.

According to an ANF spokesperson, an operation conducted near a university in Attock led to the recovery of 1.2 kilograms of hashish from a suspect. In another operation near Dry Port Chowk, Sialkot, a man and a woman riding a motorcycle were arrested, and 1.050 kilograms of heroin along with 290 ecstasy tablets weighing 147 grams were recovered from their possession. During interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed to selling narcotics to students of educational institutions.

In other operations, ANF recovered 14.4 kilograms of opium from a vehicle near Shahi Bagh, Peshawar, and arrested the suspect involved. Similarly, 9.6 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a vehicle near Sohrab Goth, Karachi. Near Ring Road, Peshawar, one kilogram of heroin was recovered from a motorcycle rider, while 2.65 kilograms of hashish were seized from two motorcycle riders near Shah Kamal Colony, Lahore.

The spokesperson stated that cases have been registered against all arrested suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Force Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
