15 Suspects, Including a Woman, Arrested in Eight Operations; 83.385 Kilograms of Drugs Worth Over Rs. 116 Million Recovered

Islamabad (Asif Malik): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has launched a crackdown against drug smuggling around educational institutions and in various cities across the country. During eight operations, 15 suspects, including a woman, were arrested and 83.385 kilograms of drugs worth more than Rs. 116 million were recovered.

According to an ANF spokesperson, 2.4 kilograms of hashish was recovered from a suspect during an operation near a university in Islamabad. The arrested suspect reportedly confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.

At Peshawar Airport, 73 heroin-filled capsules weighing 435 grams were recovered from the stomach of a passenger traveling to Bahrain.

During a search of a vehicle near the Rawalpindi Interchange, 38.4 kilograms of hashish and 15.6 kilograms of opium were recovered, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

Near the Mandra Toll Plaza, 10.8 kilograms of hashish was recovered from a vehicle, and two suspects, including a woman, were arrested.

Near Chungi No. 26 in Islamabad, 9.6 kilograms of hashish was recovered from a vehicle, resulting in the arrest of three suspects.

In Sargodha, 3.6 kilograms of hashish was recovered from three motorcycle riders near a bus terminal.

In Faisalabad, 646 grams of hashish concealed inside the shoes of a suspect was recovered during an operation near a bus terminal.

Near Ravi Road in Lahore, 680 ecstasy tablets weighing 400 grams, 1.5 kilograms of heroin, and two 9mm pistols were recovered from two suspects riding two motorcycles.

According to the ANF spokesperson, cases have been registered under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997, in connection with all the operations, and investigations have been initiated.
