Major operation conducted against illegal occupations affecting traffic movement; encroachment removal campaign to continue across Islamabad
Islamabad (Staff Reporter): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has continued its anti-encroachment operations across the federal capital to make Islamabad free from illegal occupations. Following clear directions from the CDA Chairman and special instructions from Director General Enforcement Anam Fatima, enforcement activities have been further accelerated without discrimination.
In response to public complaints, the CDA Enforcement Directorate conducted a large-scale operation on I-11 and IJP Road, removing illegal mechanical spare parts shops, heavy machinery, and other encroachments established on roads and footpaths.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Assistant Director Jehangir Khan, where enforcement teams, including inspectors and field staff, confiscated all goods placed on the road and shifted the seized material to the relevant CDA storage facility through trucks.
According to sources, CDA has also conducted similar operations in recent weeks in various sensitive areas, including I-9, I-10, and I-11 sectors, where several illegal structures, animal enclosures, and temporary roadside hotels were demolished.
Officials stated that the objective of these operations is to ensure smooth traffic flow, reduce congestion, and provide better facilities to citizens. During the latest operation on IJP Road, a large quantity of mechanical parts, vehicle doors, bonnets, engine components, and other materials were seized, resulting in significant clearance of the road.
Director General Enforcement Anam Fatima appreciated the performance of Assistant Director Jehangir Khan and his team, stating that the team deserved appreciation for removing major encroachments and restoring smooth movement for heavy traffic.
She further directed officials to maintain strict monitoring across different sectors of Islamabad and ensure that no individual is allowed to occupy roads, footpaths, or government land illegally.
Anam Fatima clarified that the anti-encroachment campaign is not a temporary measure but will continue on a permanent basis. She said that indiscriminate and unbiased operations are being carried out across all areas with equal intensity to make Islamabad a clean, organized, and encroachment-free city.
She also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration in eliminating encroachments and immediately report any illegal occupation to CDA authorities.
Officials stated that more major operations are expected in the coming days to ensure smooth traffic flow and improved civic facilities throughout the city.
